Mary Beth Hertz is a computer teacher and technology integration specialist at a charter school in North Philadelphia.  She blogs about her classroom experiences, transforming education and current issues in education, reflecting on her practice and her experiences.  She is passionate about the power that technology has to bring together educators and students, providing opportunities for students to make their voices heard outside the classroom walls and to bring the world into their classroom.

Nancy L. Ehrlich, M.Ed has been an educator for over 29 years. She has taught students from age four through the college level. Ms. Ehrlich has worked as a teacher, head of school, learning center director, and reading specialist. Throughout her diverse career, she has constantly focused on bringing the joy of literacy and learning to children, families and fellow educators. She encourages comments, correspondence and questions.

Thomas D. Whitby is currently an Adjunct Professor at St. Joseph’s College in New York. He
teaches Secondary Education Methods courses for English and Supervises Student teachers.
Retired from Public Education after serving 34 years as a secondary English teacher, he
is the founder of seven educational groups on Linkedin, the largest being 1,700 members,
the Technology-Using Professors Group. He is a Co-Creator of #Edchat, an award winning
educational discussion group on Twitter. He created of the Educator’s PLN, a global Ning site,
where approximately 5,000 educators share and collaborate daily. He is an educational Blogger,
My Island View: Educational, Disconnected Utterances. He was named by the Lincoln Center
for Education as one of the top 30 Educators to Follow on Twitter. He has written for several
national educational journals including Learning and Leading the Journal for the International
Society for Technology in Education. He has presented at statewide and National Educational
Conferences. He recently presented at The 140 Character Conferences on social Media in Los
Angeles, and New York City both being broadcast internationally.
